Abstract Visual analytics dashboards illustrate analytic processes, compiling huge amounts of data to visualize trends and occurrences, aiming present both specialists the general public with critical information using a quick efficient modality. The resulting views, that could comprise graphs, time lines, different kinds charts diagrams or maps, can be shared many users stakeholders, are meant help better communicate statistics, actionable results disseminate information. During COVID-19 pandemic, we saw an emergence rapid development analytical for epidemiological health monitoring purposes. They were initiated by institutes, academia, media outlets, international organisations and/or citizen initiatives, generally open all interested parties, inside outside field. Public, web-based allow communication on large scale, between providers organizations, citizens, journalists special interest groups, such as patient have therefore been widely adopted during pandemic. plethora (around 200 in April 2021) showcased limitations difficulties inherent format, which may related differing rationales, heterogeneous definitions varying choice indicators included, along shifting practices over waves from diagnosis testing vaccination rates. This has highlighted need collaboration authorities, field medical informatics academic groups when developing epidemic dashboard tools opened public. workshop will address theoretical aspects behind use visual dashboards. We show examples dashboards, goal understanding comparing main reasons driving their development, maintenance improvements. how choices indicators, access data, technology used well pressure expectations, including policy makers, handled. Finally, make recommendations existing pre- post COVID-19, adapted handle needs next incident also look at broader picture, namely he policies underlying whole picture.
